About The Role Nightwing is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join its dynamic team supporting a U.S. Government customer. In this critical role, you will be responsible for automating, optimizing, and enhancing the deployment and management of cloud-based engagement kits, specifically within the Bespin environment.

Your expertise will be pivotal in building robust CI/CD pipelines, maintaining source control repositories, and implementing infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure consistent, scalable, and secure deployments.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to national cybersecurity efforts by enabling rapid deployment of secure cloud infrastructure for cyber incident response and threat hunting operations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, security clearance, and relevant experience. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with an active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain DHS suitability. A minimum of three years of experience in DevOps, automation, or software engineering roles is required.

Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible is essential, along with hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions. Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or YAML, coupled with a solid understanding of Git, version control best practices, and AWS cloud services, are necessary.

Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Linux/Unix systems, and automation tools will set candidates apart. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of cloud engagement kits, ensuring efficiency and reliability. Manage source control repositories and configuration files, maintaining version control and change management processes. Implement infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar frameworks to provision and configure cloud resources automatically.

Automate provisioning, configuration, and scaling of cloud infrastructure to support mission-critical operations. Enhance the capabilities of engagement kits through automation initiatives aimed at improving deployment speed and stability. Collaborate with system architects and administrators to streamline deployment processes and troubleshoot issues during active operations.

Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system health, security, and performance. Support troubleshooting efforts and optimize system performance during live operations. Maintain comprehensive version control and change management documentation to support audit and compliance requirements. Develop automation scripts and tools to reduce manual effort and improve deployment consistency.

Participate in security hardening and automation efforts to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
